Al Zahra Hospital in Dubai has introduced a paid parking system, managed by the private company Parkonic, which became fully operational on October 15. The system aims to reduce congestion and improve the convenience of accessing healthcare facilities.
Under the new rules, outpatients are granted four hours of free parking, while those visiting the emergency department receive six hours. Patients admitted to the hospital can park free for the duration of their stay. Additional parking time will be charged at Dh10 per hour.
Vehicles that are not validated before leaving the hospital will incur a charge of Dh50 per hour. These charges will be automatically deducted from the Salik account linked to the vehicle. Patients are required to validate their parking before departure, with outpatient appointment validation links sent via text message.
The introduction of paid parking at Al Zahra Hospital follows a similar system implemented at Rashid Hospital on September 21. At Rashid Hospital, visitors can receive up to three hours of free parking daily after providing patient details, with extended free parking for accompanying visitors of admitted patients.
